What I thought last night - Sports bettors yesterday saw this coming, just not in the manner it occurred. Kansas State opened as Pick at home against top ranked Texas and were quickly bet up to 1.5-point favorites on the morning line, before settling to one point by game time.

It wasn’t so much a complete surprise Kansas State pulled the upset, since they had proven to be a very good basketball team. It was the manner in which the Wildcats won that will cause many to take a second look at both teams.

Kansas State was supposed to be a decided disadvantage in the front court, this ended up not being true. Chris Kelly and Jamar Samuels were both impressive in totaling 37 points and 20 rebounds combined. Dexter Pittman and Damion James were presumed to superior to what the Wildcats would have to offer up front, however they scored just 15 points and grabbed 14 boards as a combo and Pittman in particular seemed passive after getting roughed up early.

K-State was the aggressor from the start, playing better defense and being the smarter team. The upset, at least from rankings perspective, is all the more amazing when you consider Jacob Pullen was 2-15 shooting (0-6 on 3’s) and committed five turnovers.

What I thought today - Last night in a busy college basketball Wednesday, home underdogs were 6-9-1 ATS. Home favorites of 10 or more were pedestrian 5-5 ATS on the college hardwood. In the NBA last evening, the OVER was 8-3.

Check the internet for Lane Kiffin’s press conferences, one leaving Tennessee and the other taking the USC job. Make sure to have the shower running, you’ll need one after listening to him.

What I thought today – Really sad about Chris Henry. He was always in trouble for one thing or another from his days at West Virginia and it turns out to be just another tragic story.

I keep hearing sports bettors are pounding the Colts, however in the circles I’m traveling everyone is on Jacksonville. Interesting to note several sportsbooks do not want to let go of Indy at -3 and I’m seeing and hearing -125 or -130 on them, which tells me they don’t want Jacksonville at +3.5.

A very rare losing day around here as Chicago gave up two runs to Pittsburgh with two out and nobody on in the top of the ninth, to give us 1-2 day. Can’t feel too bad however, with 73-47-3 record (60.8 percent). If you like a lot of plays have perfect system for you today, 14 in all at 78.9 percent. What I learned yesterday- The San Diego Padres swept their nine-game homestand to even their season record at 22-22. It was the longest winning streak for any major-league team to reach the .500 mark since the Padres themselves won 14 straight games in 1999 to improve their mark to 39-39.

Finally took one on the chin yesterday, having a losing day, however can’t really complain about 30-21-2. Dialing up another Monday

Good comeback with 2-1 day, taking 3Daily Winners to 15-10-1 the last nine days. Today is a really weird day for trends, what I mean is many overlap. For example, the Chicago Bulls are 13-3 ATS in the second half against teams with winning records yet are 7-21 ATS off a road upset. The best one I could find doesn’t even impress me given the pitching matchup, but if you like Colorado, you’re good. Actually the best trend involved playing against Baltimore, but it was too late to post. The Best System is the televised MLB game and is 82.1 percent. What I learned yesterday – You have to finish playoff games. Orlando cost me and many others going thru the motions after building 18-point lead. This wasn’t the only game like this, however it hurt. Seeing Toronto, Kansas City, Seattle and Florida atop the standings in their respective divisions only speaks to the absurdity of getting too excited about baseball teams until Memorial Day. If you live in San Diego, let me know who the lead announcer is on the Padres radio games and what you think of him. The dude talks a mile a minute and though is passionate, is tough to listen to in my opinion.

What I learned yesterday – It looks like it’s just a matter of time before Derrick Rose is the best point guard in the NBA. Also, it doesn’t pay to not pull the trigger; I talked myself out of taking Portland yesterday. To borrow from Yogi Berra, when your teams don’t score in baseball (Seattle, Texas), it’s not easy to win games.

Free Baseball System-1) PLAY AGAINST road underdogs with a money line of +100 to +150 like the Halos, allowing 5.2 or more runs a game on the season (AL) against a team being outscored by opponents by one or more runs per game on the season. This system is rather easy to understand since if a team is being outscored by that much and is still favored, the oddsmakers are telling us something. A record of 34-5, 87.2 percent also tell its own story.

Three Hump Day Days and possible new feature

We bumped our record up to 7-4-1 the last four days, with 2-1 offering yesterday. Today’s Best System qualifies, but even I’m a little leery considering it is the last day of the NBA season and the attitudes of players really come into question. What I learned yesterday - The D-Backs Max Scherzer can dial it up to 95+ and has very good breaking stuff. He does seem to have problems going through the lineup more than once and might be better suited for relief as set-up man and possibly closer if starting doesn’t work out. One thing I knew that you might not, Scherzer has two different colored eyes.

Free Basketball System-1) PLAY AGAINST home favorites like Phoenix who are a good three point shooting team at 36.5 percent or higher, going against a poor three-point defense (36.5 percent or worse), who are average rebounding team (+/- 3), against a horrible rebounding team being crushed on the boards by 5.5 or more per game. This fairly complex system suggests the home favorite is not inclined to play as well against inferior opponent and is 29-6, ATS, 82.9 percent.

I personally was 1-1 as those who receive my free picks who testify to it, but I missed on the Bobcats to cause a 1-2 day. Friday April 3 plays at 3Daily Winners

Thought it was ironic Jay Cutler gets traded when his name comes up here. Overall, I think Denver helped themselves more, now having a ton of draft choices to play with and rebuild defense. I don’t think the Broncos are done on the quarterback front either, I could see them doing something with Cleveland or Arizona on or just before the draft to have another quarterback.

The trade makes sense for Chicago, since they haven’t had a potential Top 5 quarterback since god knows when, what makes this interesting is Bears football has never been about the quarterback. Granted, a bad one has held them back, but they have had numerous playoff trips with ones that were just above average.

No above average system today in the NBA, coming in at 82.9 percent over a lengthy period of time. The Cavs and Magic matchup which is detailed below has Top Trend that has yet to lose. Good Luck.

April 2 Plays and your opinion requested

Back on Tuesday, we finished with 2-1 day and want to start putting together a streak. I found a different money line system for tonight NIT championship, which is 83.1 percent over 124 games. Utah travel to Denver, how will they do in the Mile High City, the Top Trend might have the answer. Good Luck.

While mentioning Denver, what about this Jay Cutler fiasco? Though none of us know the -he said-he said -parts between the quarterback and the team, Cutler is clearly doing a 180 trying to escape being the bad guy. What a wuss in the first place for having his feelings hurt because the new coach wanted to inquire about somebody he was more comfortable with.

Though Cutler has strong arm, his decision making hasn’t always been the best, which he gets a pass on for the most part being a young quarterback. Let’s not kid ourselves, if any signal caller is a fit for first-year head coach Josh McDaniels offense, it would be Cutler. Both Tom Brady and Matt Cassel got the quick read and throw down pat and Cutler has much stronger arm, so that leads me to believe McDaniels saw something or believed something was POTENTIALLY wrong to make inquiry.

Cutler is acting like a big baby, because something hurt his feelings, tough. I know a number of teams will try and secure his services (hello Buffalo, hello Tampa Bay), however I’m not sure I’d want this goof as my quarterback if I really wanted to get to the Super Bowl. Tell me what you think.

A very sleepy Monday
