What I thought today- Though not a hot sport, the NHL Playoffs are awesome entertainment. I’ve dabbled in hockey for years, mostly with mediocre results, however I’m going to take some of my CBB winnings and set up a playoff budget and see how I do, kind of a challenge of sorts.

In case you missed it, the owner of Eye on Gambling website and the person who started the RX.com has died. Lots of things surrounding his death, including the reports of murder/suicide with his wife. Though an infrequent reader of his site, I know he was well respected in his area of expertise. Sad story.

Columbus Day Stuff

What I thought yesterday- While it’s easy to pick on the Denver Broncos uniforms, I wonder who pays for those uniforms and how much they cost? Yet these NFL teams would never think about lowering ticket prices. If I owned a NFL team and I had a game that was going to be blacked out in my town, I would have an online lottery signup for remaining tickets, charging $10.00 per entry. The winners get to go to the game for just ten bucks, but the place is full, plus the team and stadium receives all the parking and concession revenue. Those that did not win print their online receipt and can use it at the team’s gift shop (online or in person) or take it to local bars you’ve made deals with and get $10.00 off the price of food or drink and can watch the game there.

With a 2-1 Monday, that takes 3Daily Winners to 39-26-2, 60 percent, right the nose over extended period of time. Today we have the assortment pack and we’ll see how that works. What I learned yesterday – The Boston Celtics looked very tired for three quarters before waking up. Have you noticed that the Orlando uniforms tend to bunch up around the players necks late in fourth quarters, much like Stan Van Gundy’s turtlenecks? If you didn’t know the respective records of the teams, you would swear the Houston Rockets are the better team. Whatever the Angels are paying pitcher Joe Saunders, it’s not enough. The guy is money on the road.

A sad day in baseball

Great winner on the best system yesterday, which ended up being our only one. I had meeting this morning thus wasn’t able to get everything together at 3Daily Winners today. I had the Top Trend picked out last night and as I put this in I have no idea on any scores. This will not count since the game had already begun. The Best System just missed our 80 percent standard, nonetheless has been sweet this season in the NBA. Every now and again I get the urge to make a silly parlay wager (though my intention clearly is to win) and I list it below. Good Luck.

My condolences to the Nick Adenhart family. The Angels are my favorite American League team and though I always bet with my head and not my heart, this young man had bright future with the Halos. What a terrible waste. The others that perished in the crash are not sports figures, yet the grief of loved ones in their families should also be mentioned. Whatever happens to the person that committed this crime, may he be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and forever have nightmares about what they did.

It's Bracket Monday, the unofficial slow day at work
